Why hot-dip galvanizing?

Steel and iron are highly susceptible to corrosion under normal conditions, leading to significant damage and costing billions of dollars across various industries. Conventional methods, such as painting and electrostatic coating, provide only short-term protection for steel structures and can be costly.

Hot-dip galvanizing was developed to address these challenges. With its strong bonding properties and exceptional corrosion resistance, zinc serves as an effective shield, protecting steel structures from the elements and ensuring long-lasting durability.

01

Degreasing

Immersing the steel in a degreasing solution to remove oils, grease, acid and other contaminants from the surface.

02

Pickling

Removing rust layers (iron oxide) from the material surface by immersing the steel in
an acid solution.

03

Rinsing

Rinsing the steel with clean water to remove residual acid and other contaminants.

04

Fluxing

Immersing steel in molten flux promotes zinc adhesion. After flux treatment, the steel is dried to ensure the surface is hot and dry before immersion in molten zinc.

05

Zin bath

Immersing the steel completely in a molten zinc bath. The thickness of the zinc coating depends on the immersion time and the temperature of the zinc bath.

06

Cooling/Chromating

Immersing the galvanized steel in a
cooling tank solidifies the zinc coating,
and optionally, it may be treated with a passivating solution to enhance
corrosion resistance.

07

Dressing

Inspect the galvanized steel for defects
to ensure it meets quality standards. Conducting post-treatment to
enhance aesthetics.
